* Saoirse would blink upon hearing him say that he didn't know much about bees, turning her head to glance at him for a moment. She hadn't heard of a wolf never encountering them, either. “Well, they do sting. And sometimes animals are allergic to them and get really sick. But, I’m not allergic. I've gotten attacked by a swarm of them while I was trying to get honey,” she would say with a laugh, “The best thing to do when that happens is to run for water, but not back towards the pack. We don’t want a swarm of bees in the clearing. If we encounter them I know of a stream not too far away from where we’ll be looking, you’ll just have to follow me,” she would inform him, feeling like he was growing a little uneasy. Maybe this wasn't the best idea? No, she knew it was a good idea, honey was often necessary for treatment, and the more the better. She made it sound more enjoyable than it being a necessity to find, but then again she wasn't much for being a drag. Upon hearing him ask about what honey tasted like she would beam, “It’s sweet, and while when you touch it it’s sticky, when you swallow it it’s actually rather soothing,” she would murmur, “It tastes like…well honey. You’ll have to get some to know,” she would say with a laugh and a toss of her shoulders. She was surprised at how much ground they’d covered while talking, though soon enough she began to recognize the area around where she’d found the honeycomb, “It should be just head,” she would say, gesturing forward and off to the right a little bit. Their vision thus far was blocked by bushes and whatnot, but she was confident that the broken honeycomb would be there. However, she would fall silent as they moved, knowing very well that the bear could have returned, though she honestly kind of doubted it; there hadn't been much left when she was done. But then again the bear wouldn't really know that. She would put the thought out of her mind, though, and continue walking, swerving around the bushes that blocked their way. Only, when they passed the bushes she would stop dead in her tracks as merely a few feet away a bear sat, sucking on a humongous paw. She would stare at it for a moment before glancing towards Lindin, an idea forming in her mind. She only hoped that the brute would do what she expected him to. Without giving herself time to doubt herself she would back up slightly, purposefully planting her paw on a twig and watching the bear as it whirled around. She only had to wait to see what Lindin was going to do.
* Lindin thought about what the female had to say about the bees which made him laugh a little. Obviously, she was more experienced with bees than he was. He hoped though that he wasn't one of those wolves who were allergic. He didn't want to get sick from getting stung by a bee! And imagine how pathetic it would look that a large wolf got taken down by a tiny little bee. He hoped it didn't have to come to that. The male would simply nod in response when the female mentioned which direction to run. "Towards water, not towards the pack. Got it." However, what he really wanted to know was about the honey. His ears perked up as he listened closely to what Saoirse said, trying to imagine the taste and feeling in his head. It sure sounded good if it did what the female claims it did. His mother believed it was useful as well too but she never got any for him. He chuckled to himself as he thought about what would happen if he liked the honey too much. He would go out and hunt bee hives instead of deer or something. It seemed they were getting close to where the female found the honeycomb and he simply smiled as he fell behind her. They had to swerve around some bushes so he couldn't keep walking straight or else he'll go straight into a bush. His head was almost done formulating the plan for the bear when suddenly, the second he brushed past his last bush, he came to a halt right next to Saoirse. Somehow, their fear has come true. Right in front of them was a bear. It first appeared that Saoirse was planning for a stealthy exit which, considering the situation, his mind quickly went from social mode to combat. His smile has all but faded as he took a step back too, a lot more careful that Saoirse as he watched where he was going. However, that was all moot as he heard the SNAP from Sao stepping on the twig. His head snapped over to the female for just a second before back at the bear when the beast turned around. "...Run. RUN!" If Sao would listen to him, he quickly turned to the side, leaping out of the way of any immediate charge from the bear before taking off in the direction of the clearing. If she didn't, he wasn't going to leave her behind. He would continue to assess the situation and move to assist. He knew his agility was superior to the bear. The male just had to use it to his advantage.
* Saoirse would grin upon seeing Lindin’s reaction to the bear, watching as he jumped back and dove to the side. Her? She’d run forward until she could get around the bushes, landing herself in front of them. She would watch as instead of targeting her it ran after Lindin. Good. The brute just had to keep running. She would wait for a moment before darting in to the honeycomb, her gaze flicking over the remnants before picking up the pieces with the most honey. After doing so she would turn back around and begin to run after Lindin, hoping that he was a fast wolf. He’d talked about receiving combat training from his father, so she was sure that he would be just fine but she wanted to be there with him in case something happened. She reached the bear before she reached the white wolf, and with a glance at Lindin she would reach out to swipe her claws over its rump before whirling around and dashing the other way. There was no way that she was going to end up leading a bear back to the clearing. Not when it could potentially injure her packmates. So she would run the other way, the bear lumbering behind her. She only hoped that Lindin understood her actions; she didn't want him getting the wrong idea and running off to tattle on her to Saigh. That was the absolute last thing she needed at this moment. However she would let the thought slip from her mind and would focus instead on losing the bear while at the same time keeping her prize. She would begin to zig-zag through the trees, trying to shake the beast, or at least disorient it enough that it would give up. She’d seen the red, angry welts in its pelt and knew that it had been the one attacked by the bees, so she hoped that there was a possibility that it would just cut its losses and give up. There was no way that this wolfess was going to get caught by the darn bear. At least, it wasn't on her agenda.
* Lindin had leaped over to the side and got a bit of breathing room from the bear when he realized that Saoirse was not going to run. No, she was going for the honey. This female was crazy! Brave but crazy! The male growled loudly and he felt his hackles rise. However, standing still was not an option. The bear was coming after him. He leaped back from a quick swipe of angry bear paw and he had to draw the bear's attention away. He quickly ran for the trees. Heading back to the clearing was not an option. Not yet. He quickly began to recall his plan that he came up with. Head-on combat would kill him or seriously injure him. No, he had to simply tire the bear out. Confuse him. Then break away and make it safely home. The bear was still on his tail though and he leaped over decaying log, intentionally taking a difficult path for both wolf and bear. But this is what he trained for. This is what his father trained him for. His ears perked up as it sounded like Saoirse was closing on him. And to his dismay, watched her swipe her paw against the bear. The bear now turned around and headed the other way but now what? He had to protect Saoirse. Imagine what Saigh would say if he had to explain his sister was killed by a bear. But Saoirse wasn't running back to the clearing. She was trying to confuse the bear as well. The male grinned, turning to run back towards the two. She was very smart but reckless. As he charged the bear, he knew that a full on bite would overcommit him too much and he could possibly get hurt. Instead, as he ran past, he slashed his paw across the bear's rear end but didn't break his momentum, continuing to run straight. If all went well, the bear would turn around wondering going to attack him but he would already be gone and in the forest and Saoirse would be able to continue her path and disappear as well.
* Saoirse would jump slightly, startled upon hearing the bear’s angry roar. She would turn her head for a second, only to watch as Lindin ran past her with a grin on his face. She couldn't help but laugh, figuring out what he’d managed to do before taking off for the trees herself, following quickly after the brute. She soon caught up to him and ran along beside him, shoulder-to-shoulder. She was glad that he had followed her lead and had helped to confuse the bear. She hadn't heard it coming after her, so she had to assume that it either gave up or they were gone before it got its wits about it. Eventually she would cast a glance back behind her, and with no sight of the bear she would nudge into Lindin’s shoulder before slowing. As soon as her paws came to a halt she would lay the rest of the honeycomb out in front of her, her amber eyes gleaming at the amount that she’d managed to snag. “Well,” she would say, panting softly, “That was fun,” she would say with a grin, glancing at Lindin to see his reaction. She was an adventurer through and through, and she just couldn't pass up this opportunity. “It’ll make a great story,” she would say, though she hadn't stopped grinning. Adrenalin was still coursing through her veins, making her absolutely giddy. “What did you think about it?” she would ask him, her silver and black tassel waving rapidly through the air behind her. She was happy that she’d taken him back to the honeycomb, and even happier that they’d encountered the bear, however crazy that might sound. Though, she suddenly realized that he might be upset that she’d put them both in danger with her antics. She would fidget her forepaws for a moment or two, her grin finally disappearing as her black ears tugged back against her skull. She hadn't even given him enough time to respond to her excitement before she was turning apologetic, “I’m sorry,” she would say, a pout developing over her lips. Hopefully he wouldn't be angry with her, especially not now that he would be able to try the honey.
